Dr. Ashley Patterson hails from Pensacola, Florida. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree at Howard University and worked for the Institute of Medicine in Washington, D.C., for three years prior to matriculating at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine.
Upon graduation, Dr. Patterson completed a general surgery internship at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System and then pursued a Dermatology Research Fellowship at St. Louis University Department of Dermatology. Her dermatology residency at St. Louis University was completed in June 2021. She is currently a board-certified dermatologist at MetroDerm, seeing patients at our Atlanta and Alpharetta offices.
Her medical interests include hair disorders, hidradenitis suppurativa, infectious dermatoses, procedural dermatology, and skin of color.
Dr. Patterson is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons, and Skin of Color Society.
When not practicing medicine, she enjoys traveling, exercising, reading non-fiction, cooking, learning new languages, and spending time with family and friends.
