Aging skin is caused by a combination of several natural processes. First, the body slows down its production of collagen and elastin, two proteins that make skin look youthful and tight, which causes skin to lose its shape and sag. At the same time, the deep layers of fat that give the skin its plump fullness start to disappear, leading to thinner skin and hollowed areas near the eyes and cheeks. (You may see this on your hands, where the loss of fat makes the tendons and blood vessels more noticeable.) Finally, the outermost layer of skin develops fine lines, wrinkles, and darkened spots from sun exposure, while a loss of pigment leads to paler skin and gray or white hairs.

The aging process takes place over years, and we have solutions from prevention to reversal that can be tailored to wherever you are on your skin journey.

Aging Skin Treatment

Our Providers will recommend an anti-aging treatment plan based on several factors including:

  • Which areas require treatment
  • Your skin type
  • The results of past skin care treatments
  • Your personal preferences

Treatments can include over-the-counter moisturizers or “cosmeceuticals,” topical retinoids, BOTOX®, chemical peels, laser resurfacing, microdermabrasion, photorejuvenation, microneedling, and dermal fillers. We also offer a variety of anti-aging products to help treat aging skin.

MetroDerm offers anti-aging skin care treatments at all of its Greater Atlanta locations. Book an appointment with one of our Providers to discuss the best treatment for your specific needs.
