FaceTite is a minimally invasive radiofrequency (RF) procedure that tightens and contours the face and neck through tiny incisions that leave no visible scarring. A bipolar RF device is inserted just beneath the skin via a 1mm entry point, delivering thermal energy that tightens the deep tissues while a handpiece simultaneously treats the skin surface. FaceTite delivers results midway between non-invasive devices and surgical facelift–ideal for patients who are not ready for surgery but have passed the threshold of what non-invasive treatments alone can achieve.
How Does FaceTite Work?
FaceTite uses simultaneous internal and external radiofrequency energy to heat the fibrous tissue beneath the skin (the subdermal plane) and the skin surface simultaneously. Internal heating reaches 70°C at the tissue level, sufficient to cause immediate tissue contraction and collagen stimulation, while the skin surface temperature is precisely controlled to prevent burns. Results develop progressively over 3-6 months as collagen remodeling continues.
What Areas Does FaceTite Treat?
- Jawline definition — reduces early jowling and improves jawline sharpness
- Neck tightening — improves laxity and early banding in the neck
- Submental (under-chin) fat — often combined with submental liposuction via the same entry points
- Lower face — nasolabial fold skin laxity and lower cheek sagging
- FaceTite can be combined with BodyTite for body areas requiring similar treatment
FaceTite vs. Facelift: Which Is Right for You?
FaceTite is most effective for patients with mild-to-moderate skin laxity, typically in their late 30s to early 50s, who are not candidates for or not ready for a surgical facelift. Patients with significant sagging, deep facial folds, or lax platysmal bands will achieve more dramatic and durable results with a surgical facelift. Your MetroDerm plastic surgeon will recommend the most appropriate approach based on your degree of laxity and goals.
Recovery
FaceTite involves 2-4 days of mild swelling and bruising with small bandaging. Most patients return to work in 5-7 days. There are no visible incisions or sutures. A compression garment is worn for the first week.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How long do FaceTite results last?
A: FaceTite results are long-lasting — most patients see improvement for 3-5 years. Natural aging continues after the procedure, but the structural improvement achieved persists significantly longer than non-invasive treatments.
Q: Is FaceTite painful?
A: FaceTite is performed under local anesthesia and/or IV sedation in the office. Patients are comfortable during the procedure. Post-procedure soreness is mild and manageable with over-the-counter analgesics.
Q: Can FaceTite be combined with other procedures?
A: Yes. FaceTite is frequently combined with liposuction (to remove submental fat), BodyTite (for body areas), or Morpheus8 (for skin surface resurfacing) in the same session for a comprehensive rejuvenation result.
