Look and feel stronger.
CoolTone is an FDA-cleared, non-invasive body-sculpting treatment offered at our Atlanta location that uses magnetic muscle stimulation to tone, firm, and strengthen muscles. It provides simultaneous fat elimination and muscle building in a combined 30-minute session.
CoolTone utilizes magnetic muscle stimulation technology to induce supramaximal muscle contractions. CoolTone penetrates past skin and tissue to specifically target muscles. The body responds to the muscle contractions by strengthening muscle fibers, resulting in effective muscle conditioning that can’t be achieved through exercise alone.
What is a CoolTone Treatment Like?
Here is what you can expect during your CoolTone treatment at our Atlanta office.
First, applicators will be placed on the body part you are treating. The applicators use magnetic muscle stimulation to cause involuntary contractions in the treated area. CoolTone intensity levels range from 1% to 100%, depending on patient’s tolerance.
During treatment, you will feel a series of involuntary (deep) muscle contractions over the targeted area that will last for a few seconds, followed by a period of rest. A treatment typically takes 30 minutes.
You may experience muscle pain several hours after a treatment, but you can continue to maintain your usual diet and exercise routine.
Over the following weeks, you’ll notice that treated areas will be more toned, firmer, and you will feel stronger. Muscles may atrophy or lose some of their strength and tone over time if they are not maintained through your usual exercise routine, which is why we recommend quarterly maintenance treatments.
How Many CoolTone Treatments will I Need?
Each CoolTone treatment at our Atlanta office typically takes 30 minutes, and most patients require six treatments over the course of three weeks to achieve their desired body contouring results. Of course, your personalized treatment plan will vary depending on your goals. After your six initial treatments, we recommend a quarterly maintenance treatment.
What Areas Can be Treated with CoolTone?
The idea for this state-of-the-art technology began years ago when Harvard University scientists noticed that some children who ate popsicles developed dimples in their cheeks. These scientists determined that the popsicles were freezing and removing small pockets of fat cells in the children’s cheeks. The insight was that cold can target and destroy fat cells without damaging skin and surrounding tissues.
In a CoolSculpting procedure, precisely controlled cooling is safely delivered to targeted areas of stubborn fat beneath the skin. Fat cells are frozen (crystallized), and then they die. Over time, the body naturally processes and eliminates the destroyed fat cells, leaving the patient with a more sculpted physique.
The beauty of this treatment is that, once the fat cells are destroyed, they cannot grow back. Fat loss results with CoolSculpting are long-lasting.
How Many Treatments are Needed?
You will need two or more treatment sessions to achieve desired results with the CoolSculpting technology. The number of sessions will depend on:
- Areas to be treated
- Number of areas treated in a single session
- Your personal cosmetic goals
A typical Coolsculpting procedure takes approximately 30 to 60 minutes to perform. Some patients have more than one treatment in a single session.
What Areas Can be Treated?
CoolTone is FDA approved to treat the abdomen, glutes, and thighs.
What Results Can I Expect from CoolTone?
CoolTone strengthens underlying muscles for a firmer, more toned appearance. You will see initial results after the first four treatments – optimal results will be noticeable approximately two months after treatment.
Can CoolTone & CoolSculpting be Combined?
Combining CoolTone and CoolSculpting offers a comprehensive approach to body contouring and addresses lack of muscle definition and unwanted fat. CoolSculpting debulks the targeted area to make increased muscle mass from CoolTone more visible.
Because muscle and fat are two of the key components of body structure, it is often necessary to address both to achieve a truly trim and toned appearance. Combining CoolTone and CoolSculpting does just that.
What Does CoolTone Feel Like?
Our patients tell us that CoolTone is generally not painful. You will, however, feel muscle contractions that vary in intensity. Mostly, these muscle spasms will be light and non-painful.
Is CoolTone Right for Me?
If you are at a healthy weight and would like to increase muscle definition and achieve a firmer, more sculpted appearance in your abdomen, glutes, or thighs, then CoolTone may be right for you. If you are pregnant, nursing, have epilepsy, or have implanted medical devices such as pacemakers, then you are not eligible for CoolTone.
