Dr. Adar Berghoff joined MetroDerm in 2011 as a general dermatologist and dermatopathologist. He works with patients at our Atlanta/Sandy Springs office.
Dr. Berghoff obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before receiving his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society. He began his postgraduate medical training in the United States Navy in 2001 and served on active duty for six years as a primary care physician and flight surgeon. After leaving the Navy, Dr. Berghoff completed his residency in dermatology followed by a fellowship in dermatopathology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He began his practice of dermatology during his fellowship, which included time supervising and training residents. He has expertise in all aspects of general dermatology as well as cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Berghoff’s achievements include a research grant awarded by the Skin Cancer Foundation in 2009, which served to fund his study of the proteomic signature of melanocytic lesions. He has given lectures and presentations locally and nationally and authored multiple publications in dermatology and dermatopathology.
Dr. Adar Berghoff is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology in Dermatology and Dermatopathology and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He is also involved with the Atlanta Association of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.
